The Event

The Stanford Supply Chain student group “S-LINK” supported by the Manufacturing Modeling Laboratory and the Global Supply Chain Management Forum is organizing a half-day symposium involving speakers from diverse industries to talk about new challenges / tools / methods / case studies on Supply Chain Management in Emerging Economies (China, Brazil, India, Eastern Europe etc). The scheduled date is June 8th, 2007 (Friday).

Participating parties include product integrators (e.g. automotive), component manufacturers (e.g. semiconductors) and raw material suppliers (e.g. mining company) to contribute speakers. We are also have a subsequent trip to the San Francisco Giants Baseball Game wherein all the corporate affiliates are welcome to attend. There would be an opportunity to mingle with the Stanford Graduate students and corporate affiliates at the “Happy Hour” organized immediately after the symposium.

We ask each speaker to present in 30 min your current challenges, activities, case studies, etc. on the topic followed by a short question and answer session. There would be a discussion session at the end of the speaker series moderated by the hosts. We will start the session at 11:00 (12:00 lunch), and wrap up by 16:30 followed by a wine and cheese reception. We then depart to the AT&T Park in San Francisco to watch a baseball game between the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics starting at 19:15 (Please note: tickets are $30 per seat and we have a block of 50 seats).
